Where venues are in Region VIII, and getting there
The Region VIII office is at 760 Real Street in the Sagkahan district of Tacloban City. Leyte and Samar are joined by the San Juanico Bridge, so the region is largely road-connected, but distances are long: Northern Samar and Eastern Samar applicants face many hours on the road to Tacloban, and Biliran connects to Leyte by a causeway.
NAPOLCOM doesn't publish a fixed list of Region VIII venues — testing sites are named in each examination announcement and can change between sittings depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are on each applicant's Notice of Admission. When you register online you choose this regional office; NAPOLCOM then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your notice is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.
Slots & registration
Leyte generates the most applicants, with Tacloban and Ormoc the hubs. Samar's three provinces are far from the regional office and their applicants should plan an overnight stay for processing.

Eastern Visayas is on the Pacific side and takes typhoons head-on; Tacloban's experience with Yolanda is the reference every resident knows. In the wet season, watch advisories closely and travel a day early.
