Where venues are in Region VI, and getting there

The Region VI office is on Sto. Cristo corner Fuentes-Ledesma Street in Iloilo City, the regional center on Panay. Panay's provinces connect to Iloilo by road; Negros Occidental applicants cross from Bacolod by fast ferry, a short trip that is nonetheless subject to sea conditions, and Guimaras is a short boat ride away.

NAPOLCOM doesn't publish a fixed list of Region VI venues — testing sites are named in each examination announcement and can change between sittings depending on capacity and the schools available, and the exact venue and room are on each applicant's Notice of Admission. When you register online you choose this regional office; NAPOLCOM then assigns your specific site, which may not be the city nearest your home. Your notice is the only authoritative source, so check it the moment it's issued.

Iloilo and Negros Occidental produce most of the region's applicants. Bacolod has hosted its own testing capacity in larger examinations, which spares many Negros applicants the crossing on exam day; processing, however, is in Iloilo.

Weather to plan around

The region is on the typhoon track that crosses the central Philippines, and the Iloilo-Bacolod ferries are the first thing suspended when a storm signal is raised. Allow a buffer day if you are crossing.
