PNP ranks under RA 11200: all sixteen, the old names they replaced, and the NAPOLCOM exam class for each.

Republic Act No. 11200, signed into law on 8 February 2019, amended Section 28 of RA 6975 to provide a new rank classification for the PNP. The stated purpose was to end public confusion in addressing police officers, who were commonly called by the military equivalents of their ranks, by giving the PNP its own titles that read naturally in address.

The law changed names, not structure. There are still sixteen ranks, the entry rank still requires the same qualifications, and promotion still runs through the requirements of RA 8551. What changed is that every rank now carries the word Police and a title that stands on its own.

From the top of the service down. The conversions are the ones the law and the DILG's implementing announcement set out; the exam asks about them in both directions.

The entrance examination confers the eligibility for appointment as Patrolman or Patrolwoman, the bottom rung. Every rank above it is reached by promotion, and RA 8551 makes passing the corresponding promotional examination one of the conditions. NAPOLCOM renamed those examinations after RA 11200, and the four classes each cover a band of the new ladder.

The trap worth naming is the Master Sergeant band. Four consecutive ranks share the words Master Sergeant, distinguished only by Senior, Chief and Executive, and they map to SPO1 through SPO4 in that order. Items that ask about SPO2 or SPO3 are testing whether you know the order of those modifiers.
